Dye sublimation ink is a necessary consumable in dye sublimation printing, and sublimation printing is a common inkjet printing technology in digital printing industry. In our normal inkjet printing process, we must use printing ink. Generally speaking, the inks we use can be divided into two types: one is dye ink and the other is pigment ink. The two properties are not the same, the applicable materials are also not the same. Let's take a look at the differences below:
Water-based dye inks are more brightly colored for indoor photo advertising, document printing, clothing design and dyeing, etc. Dye ink print patterns are not very waterproof, after touching the water, the ink will spread out, the whole picture is invalid. In addition, the dye ink will fade when it is printed. As time passes, the color of the printed image will also fade a little, until it becomes a piece of white paper. The storage time of images printed with dye ink is generally 1-2 years, so those printed with dye ink are only used for indoor use, like indoor X exhibition shelf, advertising posters, most of them are also printed with dye ink. Of course, if you want to preserve the image for a long time, you can also choose to film, film can be waterproof, can be used outdoors.
Pigment ink: pigment ink is contrary to sublimation dye ink. When using pigment ink to print, the pattern is waterproof, and it won't fade, even if the printed images on the water, the image will be saved well, the ink will not spread out, printed image can also be saved for a long time, and will not fade.Pigment ink generally used for printing photos, rice paper, pedigree of a clan, canvas and so on.
Above is the difference between dye sublimation ink and pigment ink, hope it be a help for you.
